A Message from our CEO

"Our premise is clear: if the world is better, it tastes better. For this reason, we work every day to contribute to the planet and the communities where we operate, with concrete actions that reduce our environmental impact, provide equal opportunities to our employees, and promote sustainable growth with all our stakeholders.”

César Caicedo

Colombina acquired the first long-term sustainable loan in the nation:

In 2020, the BBVA bank granted Colombina a sustainable five-year loan for $45,000 million (COP). This operation was the first of its kind in the country, cementing Colombina's efforts to push innovation and sustainability. Moreover, the loan was one of the first formalized under the 'Sustainability-Linked Loan Principles' (SLLP) for a food and beverage company in Latin America. The interest rate for this type of financing is directly linked to environmental indicators and their evolution, for example, the reduction in our carbon footprint, which we document in our annual sustainability report. This loan and the compromises that come with it are an example of Colombina's commitment to combat climate change.

Colombina’s wager on renewable energy:

In alliance with CEO - Compañía Energética de Occidente (Occidental Energy Company), we built a solar energy self-generation plant in Santander de Quilichao, Cauca. As a leading energy services company in the Cauca region, CEO strongly advocates for environmental practices, making them an ally for our sustainable efforts. In 2020, we embarked on a project to create a 22,000-square-meter solar energy plant next to our baked goods plant with 4,890 panels producing more than 2,716,000 kWh/year of energy. This value corresponds to 20% of the food plant's annual energy consumption contributing to reducing more than 1,000 tons of CO2 annually.
